During 1999, Zipper Zeman Associates provided engineering and environmental services on major projects in five Northwest states. Private industry clients include retailers, cellular companies, developers, and insurance companies. Public works projects have included road improvements, bridges, and utility projects. The firm provides geotechnical engineering, environmental consulting and engineering geology services. Offices are located in Lynnwood and downtown Seattle.

ZZA has more than quadrupled in size, growing from a staff of four in fall of 1998 to its current size of 20, according to president John Zipper. The firm is on pace to receive annual gross revenues in the $2 million range during 1999, and has set a 50 percent growth target for 2000. The range of services offered has also kept pace with the growth through the construction of a full service geotechnical laboratory, and acquisition of geotechnical and environmental field instruments.
