JGM Landscape Architecture

Location: Bellevue
President: Dave McNeal
Size of firm: 7
Year founded: 1965
Annual revenues: $750,000
Specialties: Parks and recreational projects, transportation related project, trail design and planning

JGM has been working this year on a number of community and cultural projects, including community centers and libraries. Residential and housing projects have also been especially important recently. Although revenues at JGM have increased substantially in the last year, the firm has maintained a steady size for several years.

"We as principals like to do some of the work," said Dave McNeal, president. "Growth is not an objective."

In a greater number of projects, clients and other consultants agree that the landscape architect should take the lead as primary consultant. Although it is a small firm, "We’ve never been hesitant to be prime consultant when it makes sense." said McNeal.

This years projects include Bradley Lake Park in Puyallup, Latta Wood Park in Bellevue, White River Trail in Auburn, the Columbia River Shore master plan in Richland, the Columbia Loop Trail in the Tri-Cities and the Pasco Rivershore master plan.

The firm has worked on some roadway projects as well as soccer fields at Marymoor Park for King County, Richland Community Center, Woodinville City Hall, and Puyallup Public Library. "All have had a lot of community involvement," said McNeal.

In the private sector, the firm is working on multi-family projects in Bellevue for Intracorp.
