Worthy and Associates, also celebrating a 20th anniversary, has emphasized public sector work, and continues to design community parks, recreation, environmental enhancement, and transportation-related projects.
“Our design practice will shift focus to parks in 2003, with reduced efforts in transportation in the post I-776 and R-51 environment,” said Principal Steve Worthy.
Worthy finds that work has steadily increased this year. The firm size has remained constant and one new position will likely be added by mid-year.
Projects:
- Chehalis River Surge Plain Trail will afford visitors unique views into Washington’s largest wetland.
- BTA Levy athletic fields improvements for the Seattle School District, due for completion in 2003, will provide new player opportunities at Ingraham, Rainier Beach, Nathan Hale, Adams, Sealth, Denny and Wilson Pacific school sites.
- Discovery Park trail signage system is a model trail development and inventory system for Seattle Parks.
- US/Canada Border Crossing project will involve value analysis recommendations for architect James Cutler.
- Carkeek Park’s trail system makes use of a model trail development and inventory system designed by Worthy and Associates for Seattle Parks.
- Landscape architectural design standards designed by the firm will be applied to all new public arterials and major roadways in Snohomish County.
