Regional Express buses Community connections HOV access ramps Contract schedule Buses aren't much of a transit option if they're stuck in traffic like the rest of us. In a partnership with the Washington State Department of Transportation, Sound Transit will give express buses the freedom they need via a seamless network of HOV/carpool lanes. In addition, a series of special access ramps will allow buses to enter and leave freeways without weaving in and out of traffic. The first express buses will launch in fall 1997 running between Lakewood, Tacoma and Seattle.
