WASHINGTON (AP) — The National Park Service says the cleanup at the Lincoln Memorial is complete, three weeks after the statue was vandalized with green paint.
Park service spokeswoman Carol Johnson says the final treatment to remove the last stubborn traces of paint from the monument was washed off Friday morning and the scaffolding around the memorial has been removed. She says the preservation team has removed all of the paint.
