New access to Hudson River bridge
ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — State officials say the new 21-story elevator connecting the Poughkeepsie waterfront to the pedestrian bridge over the Hudson River is scheduled to open to the public this week.
A former railroad bridge finished in 1889, Walkway Over the Hudson State Historic Park opened in 2009. It connects Poughkeepsie to Highland.
