Q. Who are the world's “mapheads”? Hey, you may actually be one of them.
A. These are people passionate about maps or cartography (from “carto” for “maps”), says Paul McFedries in IEEE Spectrum magazine. For example, “citizen cartography” involves mapmaking by nonprofessionals. As one “cartophiliac” (maplover) put it, “It's never enough just to be at a place — anyone can do that. The trick is to know where you are.”
