Stoel Rives

Attorneys Bart W. Reed, Rachel Hoffman Cox and Joseph Nussbaum are now partners in the Seattle office of Stoel Rives. Reed focuses on construction and design disputes. Cox advises clients in permitting, compliance and environmental laws. Nussbaum, a member of the project finance group and renewable energy industry team, focuses on the solar industry.

F5 Networks

Nick Mehta and Marie E. Myers joined Seattle-based F5 Networks' board. Mehta is CEO of Gainsight, a developer of sales software. He was CEO of LiveOffice, which was acquired by Symantec in 2012. Myers is CFO of UiPath, a robotic process automation company. Prior to that, she was global controller at HP.

City of Tacoma

The city of Tacoma said Vanna Sing will get the 2019 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Emerging Leader Community Service Award during the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. birthday celebration in Tacoma. The award focuses on young leaders. Sing founded Tacoma Healing Awareness Community.

Union Gospel Mission

Seattle's Union Gospel Mission won a $5,000 grant from the Academy of Dentistry International Foundation for dental services for homeless and low-income men and women. Over the past year, the mission's dental clinic in Pioneer Square has cared for more than 1,100 patients. It also trains dental hygienists.

NBS Financial Services

Jeffrey Ballaine joined Norris, Beggs & Simpson Financial Services as a vice president for the Seattle loan origination team. Ballaine has nearly 25 years of experience in commercial mortgage banking, and was a loan originator and vice president at Hunt Real Estate Capital in Seattle. NBS provides commercial real estate capital.

Technology Alliance

Former state legislator Laura Ruderman is the new CEO of Seattle-based Technology Alliance. Ruderman was interim PAC director for Children's Campaign Fund after her term in the House of Representatives. The nonprofit Technology Alliance advances education, research and entrepreneurship to support high-impact industries, high-wage jobs and economic prosperity.

CWU

Central Washington University hired Joe Ritchie as campus executive chef. Ritchie opened and was chef at Goldfinch Tavern in the Four Seasons Hotel Seattle. Prior to that, he was a chef at Ethan Stowell's Mkt. restaurant in Seattle, Poppy in Seattle, Cave B Estate Winery & Resort in Quincy, and The Herbfarm in Woodinville. CWU is revamping its dining program.

Tacoma Municipal Court

Dwayne L. Christopher is a new Tacoma Municipal Court judge and will preside over Courtroom 134. Christopher was elected in November and will be sworn in this week. The court hears criminal offenses, and traffic and parking infractions.
