Glen Parker recently joined W.G. Clark Construction as its project manager on the 48-unit Terry Denny Apartments that Samis Land Co. is developing. Parker has a background as an estimator, project manager and superintendent -- spending most of his 25 years in construction in and around Anchorage, Alaska. For 10 years, he served as the senior estimator/project manager for Swalling Construction, which specialized in marine and heavy construction.

The Associated Builders & Contractors of Western Washington has elected officers for the 1999-2000 term. The new team includes: Gary Darling of Mastercraft Electric, president; Bob Jayne of S.D. Deacon, president-elect; Joan Baldwin of TEC Mechanical Service Co., vice president; DeAnna Leigh of DeBolte Plumbing & Heating, vice president; Vic Peri of VP Peri Painting Co., vice president; Wally Clayton of Pivetta Brothers Construction, secretary-treasurer; and Ron Nolton of Dochnahl Construction, immediate past president. The association also elected new directors. They include: Scott Hanson of Lockett Construction, Don Lloyd of Rushforth Construction and Steve Ness of M.J. Ness Construction. They join existing board members Linda Browning of Kirtley-Cole Associates, David Calixto of Hartford Contracting, Rick Cherf of Colt Construction, Ed Goetz of Pacific Air Control, Don Mar of Marpac Construction and Steve Taylor of S.G. Taylor Construction.
The Prestressed Concrete Group of Morse Brothers has hired Dr. Keith Kaufman as chief engineer for all bridges and structures, and promoted Pat Hynes to plant manager of its Harrisburg, Ore., facility. Kaufman previously spent 10 years with CH2M Hill as that company's senior bridge engineer. He specializes in precast, prestressed and post-tensioned concrete bridges; load rating; and seismic retrofit. He holds doctorate and master's degrees in civil engineering from Purdue University, and is an adjunct professor at Oregon State University. Hynes has worked as a project supervisor and chief engineer at the company's Clackamas, Ore., plant since 1985. He holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from the University of Idaho.
