In Seattle, Lease Crutcher Lewis hired Marya Granger-O’Neil as administrative business manager; Jordan Gevers as marketing manager; Jacob Boyd as VDC coordinator; Patricia Rangel as operations assistant; Kris Bogar and Scott Kihara as project engineers; Charles Rasmussen and Harlan Perkins as superintendents; and Sean Sumner as field superintendent. Granger-O’Neil has more than a decade of office management experience and ran an employment agency. Gevers spent 14 years in marketing, including nine at engineering and architecture firms. Boyd was an estimator, project engineer and VDC coordinator for four years. Rangel has 17 years of construction administration experience. Bogar has three years of construction experience and holds a bachelor’s degree in construction management from Washington State University. Kihara interned at Lewis and recently earned a bachelor’s in physics at the University of Washington. Rasmussen has been in construction since 1996 and focuses on healthcare projects. Perkins has more than 20 years of construction experience and used to own a construction firm. Sumner is a 20-year carpenter and supervisor.

Walsh Construction Co. promoted James Conway to estimator; Anthony Sherman to assistant superintendent; and Drew Mixter, Jason Wilson and Blake Flury to superintendents. It also hired Matt Elliott as project engineer. Conway is working with Walsh's self-perform earthwork crew. Sherman and Wilson are working on the Liberty Bank project. Mixter is working on the Ainsworth & Dunn project. Flury is working on the LIHI Little Saigon project. Elliott is working on a residential project in Bellevue's Spring District. Walsh has offices in Seattle, Portland and Tacoma.
In Burlington, Trico Companies hired Travis Binschus as project engineer. Binschus was an architectural designer and manager for A/E firms at a semiconductor fabrication plant in Oregon. Before that, he was a GIS analyst for Microsoft and helped build a state-wide road network database for WSDOT in Spokane.
The Construction Industry Training Council of Washington opened a training facility in Pasco off Road 90. The building has classrooms and labs for electrical and sheet metal trades. It was designed by Rhodes Architecture + Light of Seattle and built by Elite Construction & Development of Pasco. Absolute Power of Pasco was the electrical contractor and Jacob & Rhodes of Kennewick was the mechanical contractor. The new training facility joins others in Marysville, Vancouver, Spokane and Bellevue.
Marysville-based Central Welding Supply bought Axium Gases Northwest in White City, Oregon. Bruce Tozer, former owner of Axium, continues with Central's team. The new location is Central's 23rd outlet in Washington, Oregon and Alaska.
