In Burlington, Trico Companies hired Todd Rork as civil superintendent, Ashley Tonsgard as accounting coordinator and Don Gordon as IT support specialist. Rork has over 25 years of experience in civil construction, working as a general laborer, pipe layer, heavy equipment operator and superintendent. Tonsgard has six years of construction project administration experience and is working on her bachelor's degree in accounting at Western Governors University. Gordon has over 25 years of IT experience in positions including systems administrator, IT consultant and IT manager.

GLY Construction

Bellevue-based GLY Construction promoted Ted Herb to CEO and added three minority shareholders. Herb succeeds Jim Karambelas, who is retiring after 25 years with the company. Herb joined GLY in 1987 as a project engineer, rising to vice president of operations in 2008 and president in 2016. New shareholders are CFO Joe Bonacci and senior project managers Tess Wakasugi-Don and Garrick Hughes. Bonacci also will serve on the company's executive committee. Wakasugi-Don is the first female owner in the firm's 52-year-history.

Graham Construction & Management

In its Seattle office, Graham Construction & Management added business development director Bill Polis, HR advisor Sam Chao, operations accountant Christina Dabbagh, buyer Rachel Murphy, quality manager Damion Walker, quality specialist Mark Bush and HSE coordinator Isael Sanchez-Rios. The Canadian company also relocated three employees from other offices to Seattle. Included are senior project manager Joel Isaac, superintendent Jason Schmidt and senior project coordinator Zach Sterling.

Tacoma-based Colvos Construction hired seven to help with an estimated $40 million in projects. The additions include a superintendent, project engineer, two carpenters, a laborer, an administrative assistant and the newly created director of business engagement position. New superintendent Randy Peterson has nearly 40 years of construction experience and specializes in tenant improvements in healthcare, office and education facilities. New project engineer Roman Daves recently graduated from BYU-Idaho with a bachelor's in construction management. He was an intern last year at Colvos. Deanna Dargan is director of business engagement. She is the former owner and marketing strategist at Tairis Group and was director of marketing at BCRA in Tacoma and The Rush Companies in Gig Harbor.

A new year will bring change at Kent-based Hermanson Co., as Paul Robinett will step into the role as president. Current President Rick Hermanson has held the role for 21 years and will become CEO on Jan. 1. He transitioned the company from a sheet metal shop into one of the region's largest mechanical construction and service companies. Robinett has been with the company for 18 years. He led its expansion into healthcare and critical environments mechanical construction.
