Folke Nyberg, who appeared with fellow professor emeritus Phil Thiel at an AIA Seattle event last month, wants the city to rebuild its political base before it takes on more mega projects.
If Seattle is near gridlock and hardly recognizable to the people who have lived here for years, Nyberg and Thiel saw it coming. As academics and architects, they’ve been bucking trends for years, taking critical stands on the way the city is built and how architects approach their work.
