Lynnwood shows there's life after suburbia

  • Lynnwood’s pursuit of a vibrant city center will be built on concepts that have been honed and tested in other suburban cities.
    Special to the Journal

    Lynnwood is lining up the pieces of a puzzle that will put it on the map of best places to live and work around the Puget Sound.

    All the city needs is a "there" there -- those sights that say you’ve arrived and it’s time to slow down, look around and maybe stay for a while. That’s not easy to imagine now, driving among the forest of signs, acres of pavement and the big and small retail boxes set way off the street.
