Slowly but surely, the groundwork is being laid for the Qwest Field North Lot development and the future of South Downtown.
The North Lot is the large parking lot just north of Qwest Field. Along with the grand old train stations nearby, it has been sleeping through the automobile age while the city's center of gravity moved north. Even in the 1990s and beyond, much of the emphasis on adding density to Seattle was focused on underused land between the retail core and Lake Union.
