Oregon Zoo building new home for elephants in $57M Elephant Lands

Construction crews at the Oregon Zoo recently unearthed an Eisenhower-era concrete moat that once encircled the zoo's elephant habitat. The habitat opened with a moat in 1959 but the moat was closed about 20 years ago.
