SEATTLE — Plans to renovate parts of the upper floors of the Macy's building in downtown Seattle will be up for discussion at a Seattle Landmarks Preservation Board meeting Wednesday.
The DJC reported in April that Macy's is looking to sell the top four floors of the eight-story structure at 300 Pine St. as a “commercial condo interest.”
Macy's is listed in project documents as the property owner. Guardian is listed as the developer and Callison is the architect. Paul Brenneke is CEO of Guardian, a Portland-based investment banking and real estate firm.
Changes to the building could include three new elevators, “clerestory penthouses” and more skylights.
The building opened in 1929 as a Bon Marche store. It was declared a city landmark in 1989.
The meeting is set for 3:30 p.m. on the 40th floor of Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 Fifth Ave.
