Ric Yoder's company, GinSing, Inc., is opening compact to-go restaurants called Wild Ginger Kitchen that are a takeoff on his Asian-inspired Wild Ginger restaurants in Seattle and Bellevue.

SkB Architects designed a prototype for the new restaurant. The prototype was used for the Wild Ginger Kitchen in Bellevue's Whole Foods 365 (shown here) and a Kitchen that will open soon in a Whole Foods store in Redmond.

Perkins + Will designed a Wild Ginger Kitchen that opened at Swedish Medical Center on First Hill.

There's also a walk-up Wild Ginger Kitchen adjacent to the Triple Door in Seattle.

In a press release, SkB said GinSing has plans to install the to-go restaurants in Whole Foods 365 stores and other locations in the Northwest.

SkB also designed the Bellevue Wild Ginger restaurant that will open in Lincoln Square next spring. The eatery is moving from The Bravern, also in Bellevue.

SkB said Wild Ginger Kitchen takes its design cue from the Lincoln Square restaurant. It has an open kitchen, open-framed teak screens, off-white toned walls, subtly-patterned tile and a low Carrara marble bar.

Wild Ginger Kitchen will have a limited menu and is designed to be adapted to different sites, the architecture firm said. The restaurants will be 600 to 1,000 square feet, depending on the site.

Wild Ginger Kitchen features natural ingredients, with food prepared on request or as grab-and-go from the cold case.
