The Showbox gains landmark status

  • After a 7-0 vote by the landmarks board, building ownership says it will consider its next steps.

    Musicians who have played at the Showbox include Duke Ellington, Muddy Waters, Coldplay, Lady Gaga and Macklemore.

    Seattle’s Landmarks Preservation Board on Wednesday voted to designate as a city landmark the downtown building that houses the popular music venue, the Showbox.
