Feds award $10.4M for quake warning system

This solar panel powers a station in southwest Washington that detects seismic events and reports them to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network.

The U.S. Geological Survey awarded $10.4 million to the Pacific Northwest Seismic Network, based at the University of Washington, to support the ShakeAlert earthquake early warning system.
