The West Vancouver Freight Access Program is one of two Washington projects to receive engineering awards from ASCE. The project included the rail trench shown near the edge of the Columbia River under the BNSF Railway bridge. The trench provides new rail access into the Port of Vancouver USA, helping trains to move faster in and out of the port without conflicting with trains moving between Washington and Oregon.
