Wallingford historic district advances

SEATTLE — On Oct. 14, the Washington Advisory Council on Historic Preservation voted in unanimous support of Historic Wallingford's proposal to establish a historic district in the neighborhood and have it added to the National Register.

The proposed districting comprises a northern section of Wallingford with nearly 600 single-family homes, as well as 56 “domestic multi-family” buildings, five religious facilities, two commercial buildings, and 38 homes converted from single-family to multifamily. The district would be known as the Wallingford-Meridian Streetcar Historic District.
