Japanese center gets cherry trees

SEATTLE — Eleven new cherry blossom trees have been planted at the grounds of the Japanese Cultural & Community Center of Washington at 1414 S. Weller St. in Seattle's Central District.

Mayor Bruce Harrell joined the consul-general of Japan in Seattle, Makoto Iyori, and other Japanese-American community leaders last week to celebrate the planting of the blooms.
