City gets $2M to explore I-5 lids

SEATTLE — The city of Seattle's Office of Planning and Community Development received a $2 million federal grant to advance the Downtown Seattle I-5 Lid project.

The project is a grassroots initiative that will explore the potential of lidding portions of Interstate-5 to create new land that could be developed for affordable housing, new parks and other community-orientated uses.
