    BEND, Ore. — Melissa Glidewell describes life in Bend as “poverty with a view.”

    The 35-year-old first moved to Bend in 1989 and attended Buckingham Elementary School starting in 1989. Aside from three years away at college, she has lived in Central Oregon ever since.
