WSP may increase academy class size

SHELTON, Mason County (AP) — The Washington State Patrol is considering an increase in class sizes at the academy in Shelton to combat a shortage of troopers.

KING-TV reports (http://kng5.tv/1KuR8M6 ) that there are 95 open trooper positions across the state and about 200 troopers will be eligible to retire in the next two to three years.
