Report: Alaska port project cost could be cut by a third

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) — The projected cost of the Port of Alaska renovation could be cut by a third or more, according to a report by a private consulting firm.

The 97-page draft analysis said Anchorage could save from $600 million to $800 million on the projected $1.9 billion cost of the port modernization project, The Alaska Journal of Commerce reported Wednesday.
