SEATTLE — Seattle City Councilmember Andrew Lewis has revealed plans to re-open discussions about the future of cars in Pike Place Market with stakeholders in 2022.
Cars have always been allowed in the market but the topic of possible pedestrianization has also been long debated. “There [are] a lot of advantages to pedestrianizing public spaces in terms of increasing foot traffic, increasing the uses for that area that used to be restricted,” said Lewis in a King 5 News report.
