Community Roots project gets $4.5M

SEATTLE — As previously reported by the DJC, Community Roots Housing and YouthCare have partnered to redevelop the Booth Building, on the corner of Broadway and East Pine Street, into 84 affordable housing apartment units and an approximately 25,000-square-foot new education and employment academy for YouthCare.

The project was recently awarded $4.48 million from the Housing Trust Fund. This adds to the $4 million granted to the project in the 2023 state capital budget.
