A cement kiln owner in Eastern Oregon is installing a $20 million proprietary system to reduce mercury emissions at its plant up to 85 percent, under a voluntary agreement with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality. The activated carbon injection (ACI) mercury control system is expected to be operational this summer.
