Workers install massive gates at Panama Canal

Eight gates are being installed on the Atlantic side of the canal and another eight on the Pacific side. Gates weigh about 3,400 tons each and the tallest is 108 feet.

About 6.3 million cubic yards of concrete is being used to create the new set of locks. Crews began pouring concrete about four years ago, pictured, and are now installing gates.
