JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) — The group behind the proposed Pebble Mine has hired a consulting firm to review whether the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency “acted fairly” in evaluating potential large-scale mining in the Bristol Bay region.
Pebble Limited Partnership spokesman Mike Heatwole said Pebble hired The Cohen Group because it was not certain that the various reviews of what it believes was EPA's “misconduct” will be as thorough and comprehensive as Pebble thinks necessary.
