BONNEY LAKE (AP) — Police in Bonney Lake, Washington, now say that three people were killed when a concrete slab fell from a construction site on a highway overpass, crushing a vehicle driving underneath the span.
Police said Monday night that the three victims located when workers could finally reach the damaged vehicle included a young couple in their mid-20s and an infant boy.
The News Tribune reports the baby was 6 to 8 months old.
Construction crews were installing a sidewalk on the State Route 410 overpass in Bonney Lake, when a chunk of concrete fell to the roadway below Monday morning.
Fire officials initially said at least one person had been killed.
