SEATTLE — Prominent Seattle construction attorney Stephen L. Nourse died last Monday after fighting a lung disease for more than a year.
Nourse was president of Carney Badley Spellman for five years before stepping down in February. He also co-chaired the firm's construction department.
Nourse joined Carney Badley Spellman in 1987 through the merger of his firm, Nourse & Associates. He represented public and private owners, contractors, shipyards, designers, subcontractors, insurance carriers, lenders and developers.
Carney Badley Spellman's website said Nourse got a bachelor's degree in civil engineering from Stanford University in 1975, then got his law degree from the University of Washington in 1978.
A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. on May 30 in Twisp. Contributions may be made to: The Lookout Coalition at Room One, 315 S. Lincoln St., Twisp, WA 98856.
