Auburn firm laying pipe at U.S. Open

AUBURN — Auburn Mechanical will install 10,000 feet of temporary water pipe in preparation for the U.S. Open golf tournament at Chambers Bay in University Place.

Nearly 250,000 spectators are expected at the tournament that runs June 15-21.

The pipes will service 48 portable bathroom trailers and 11 commercial kitchens. Crews will also install 23 reduced pressure backflow assemblies.
