Sound Transit may get $1.2B for rail

SEATTLE (AP) — The transit authority for the Puget Sound region is expecting to receive $1.2 billion in federal funding for the light rail extension into Seattle's northern suburbs.

The Seattle Times reports Sound Transit has secured an agreement with the Federal Transit Administration to receive the funding in installments through 2028.
