SEATTLE (AP) — A nationwide flooring company has agreed to pay a fine of nearly $134,000 to settle federal allegations that it paid a bribe to help secure work at a naval submarine base in Washington state.
The U.S. Attorney's Office in Seattle says Spectra Contract Flooring, which has an office in Tukwila, was a subcontractor on a seismic upgrade at Naval Base Kitsap in 2009. Prosecutors said Spectra performed work at the Gig Harbor home of the main contractor on the job, Brent Meisner, and billed the Navy for it.
