TACOMA — The Washington State Historical Society said 36 public heritage projects in the state will receive funding through its Heritage Capital Projects program.
The program will distribute $9.7 million in matching grants for which grantees provide twice as much through community-supported fundraising, the society said in a press release. All that supports projects that include restoring historic buildings, preserving archaeological sites and building expansions or new facilities that provide preservation activities and exhibits.
