New AGC survey: contractors still struggle to find workers

  • The workforce shortage may be driving up labor costs. Many Washington contractors said their project costs were higher than anticipated.

    A new survey from the Associated General Contractors of America and Autodesk shows that contractors are still struggling to find workers, especially craft workers.

    During a call-in news conference on Tuesday, AGC leaders said the survey of about 2,000 contractors indicated that 80% of them nationwide were having trouble finding craft workers and 57% had a hard time hiring salaried workers.
