SEATTLE — To avoid confusion when Sound Transit opens its University District station in 2021, the agency will rename the University Street station downtown.
Sound Transit is seeking public input on a list of six new names for the downtown station: Seneca Street; Midtown; Downtown Arts District; Arts District; Symphony; and Benaroya Hall.
In-person input can be provided on the mezzanine of University Street Station at these times and dates: 3-6 p.m. Sept. 12; 10 a.m.–2 p.m. Sept. 17; 6–10 a.m. Sept. 26; and 2–6 p.m. Sept. 28. Input can also be submitted online at http://www.soundtransit.org/rename-usstation-survey.
Sound Transit staff will present the results to the agency's board, which will select the new name by January 2020.
