Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan yesterday announced nearly $31 million will be spent between 2020 and 2023 on “Vision Zero” transportation safety projects and transit improvements. Durkan also identified funding to close the $56 million gap for the Center City Connector streetcar, but didn't elaborate on that.
The mayor's budget has $16.7 million from the sale of the city-owned properties on Mercer Street for the Vision Zero plan, which aims to end traffic deaths and “serious injustices” on city streets by 2030.
