SEATTLE — Sound Transit is looking at long-range capital improvements to its Sounder heavy rail service south of Seattle.
To meet growing demand over the next decade, Sound Transit may lengthen trains and platforms to carry up to 40% more passengers. Current trains consist of seven cars and the plan is to add one car by 2024 and two more by 2028. The number of weekday trips could also be increased.
