CHILCO, Idaho (AP) — Chemical pollution has been found in soil at an illegal dump over the aquifer that provides drinking water for about 500,000 people in the Spokane area, officials said.
Petroleum and other contaminants were detected at property owned by Wayne Galland north of Hayden, said Marc Kalbaugh, a site remediation manager for the Idaho Department of Environmental Quality.
