A new report says the Northwest must use renewable energy and boost energy efficiency to meet future demand, while moving away from coal. The report says the extra cost of making this switch will be one cent per kilowatt hour.
The report, called Bright Future, is sponsored by the NW Energy Coalition, Save Our Wild Salmon and the Sierra Club. It is the second in a series of papers written by Light in the River, a Seattle organization that is examining issues of global warming.
