Newer toilets saving water in Pullman

PULLMAN, Whitman County (AP) — Over the past seven years, the city of Pullman says it has saved 8.4 million gallons of water per year from the replacement of more than 2,000 toilets.

The Moscow-Pullman Daily News reports the city started a toilet rebate program in 2008 as part of its water conservation plan. The program offered residents up to $125 for replacing toilets that exceed 1.6 gallons per flush.
