Rain puts out fire in Olympic Park

OLYMPIC NATIONAL PARK (AP) — Precipitation in Olympic National Park has finally extinguished a wildfire that had been burning since May.

The Peninsula Daily News reports (http://bit.ly/1Oj7s1K ) that park fire operations specialist Ty Crowe said Wednesday that the fire in the Queets River drainage known as the Paradise fire was finally out after a series of storms that dropped several feet of rain.
