Daniels Create World Seattle LLC, the team behind The Emerald condo tower under construction near Pike Place Market, has brought on Envoy Technologies to provide Tesla electric cars for future residents.

The announcement was made on Earth Day.

Envoy is a California-based provider of shared on-demand, community-based electric vehicles. This is its first partnership in the Seattle area.

Emerald residents will have exclusive access to Envoy's Model S and X Teslas. They will be able to book the cars by the minute, hour or day through a mobile app. Ground-level stations will keep the cars charged.

“Seattle is a prime location to deliver innovative (electric vehicle) solutions,” said Envoy co-founder Ori Sagie in a news release. “Local leaders, utilities and commercial groups are increasingly recognizing the benefits of clean mobility. Seattle is one of the biggest EV markets, and as related infrastructure grows in the city, we look forward to expanding our platform.”

Andersen Construction is building The Emerald at the southwest corner of Second Avenue and Stewart Street. It should be finished next year and will have 265 one-bedroom units ranging from 600 to 950 square feet, with prices starting in the $500,000s.

Hewitt designed the 41-story tower to LEED silver specifications, including Energy Star-rated appliances, windows that optimize daylight, LED lighting, low-emitting materials, and landscaped terraces with water-saving native plants.

Daniels Create World Seattle's website lists Susan Marinello Interiors (interior design) and Polaris Pacific (marketing and sales). An article in the May 11, 2018, DJC listed KPFF Consulting Engineers as the structural and civil engineer.
