SEATTLE — The city of Seattle recently announced that it will go ahead with the removal of two 40-foot-tall Norway Maples in Capitol Hill.
Members of the Capitol Hill community had been fighting to save trees, which are located in a planting strip along 13th Avenue East. They were scheduled to be axed as part of the city's plans for sidewalk and curb improvements to aid with the redevelopment and construction of new townhouses on the street.
