Student loans are back. Is it time to consolidate your credit card debt?

Research shows consumers expanded their debt portfolios during the student loan payment pause, taking on new credit card debt especially.

The federal student loan payment pause that began in March 2020 is ending. Loans began accruing interest on Sept. 1, and borrowers will start making payments in October.
