Moriguchi

Denise Moriguchi was elected to the board of AAA Washington. Moriguchi is president and CEO of Asian grocer Uwajimaya. Prior to joining Uwajimaya, she worked at a consulting firm in Boston and in brand management for a pharmaceutical company. AAA Washington provides emergency roadside assistance, travel services and personal-lines insurance.

In Seattle, Hart Crowser promoted Kelly Eng to associate. Also, it hired Tad Schwager as a fisheries biologist, Alessandra Hossley and Zach Yell, Jr. as geotechnical engineers, and Kaelan Hendrickson, Mike Espinoza and Anna Finigan as field geologists. In Vancouver, Hart Crowser promoted Dan Trisler to principal. In Portland, it promoted Chris Martin to associate, and hired Tim Walters, Ph.D. as an ecologist and botanist, and Tristan Anderson and Reza Behzadpour, Jr. as geotechnical engineers. Eng has been with the company for 16 years. She is human resources manager and works with the corporate health and safety manager in the retention of health and safety statistics and completion of OSHA and other compliance reports. Schwager has 12 years of experience in stream and habitat restoration and fisheries research. His clients have included federal and state agencies, fish restoration groups, companies, and cities and counties in the Northwest. He is working on an environmental impact statement involving 14 federal dams and 3,000 miles of the Columbia and Snake River systems in four states. Hossley and Yell each hold a master's in geotechnical engineering from the University of Washington. Hendrickson has a bachelor's in geology from the University of Puget Sound. Espinoza has a bachelor's in geology from Eastern Washington University. Finigan has a bachelor's in geology from Western Washington University. Trisler is a geotechnical engineer who manages the Vancouver office and has 23 years of experience in Washington and Oregon, eight with Hart Crowser. He helps design infrastructure projects such as roads, bridges, schools and ports, and works with commercial and industrial developers. He was geotechnical engineer-of-record for the first tsunami safe-haven project built in the U.S.: Ocosta Elementary School in Westport. Martin is an environmental engineer who was hired 12 years ago. He has worked on projects for Bonneville Power Administration, US Forest Service, US Navy, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, and Washington State Department of Ecology. Walters has 20 years of experience, and has wetland scientist certification. He has conducted plant collections, surveys and identifications in 48 U.S. states, and in Canada and Brazil, and has collected and submitted over 13,000 plant specimens for curation to universities and museums. Anderson has six years of experience, including on solar farm, landslide, airport, high rise, and commercial projects. He is working on landslide remediations, schools, roads and bridges, and sewer projects. Behzadpour has a master's in civil/geotechnical engineering from Idaho State University, where he analyzed a design of three 1,800-foot tunnels under the Pacific Ocean for a project in Chile. His three years of experience includes geotechnical investigations for buildings, highway construction and material testing. He will work on levee embankments and deep foundations, slope stability analysis and construction observation. Hart Crowser is an engineering, science and consulting firm.

Stantec

In Seattle, Stantec hired Gregory Ngai as a designer and Andrew Farrer as an audiovisual designer. In Lynnwood, it hired Al Greiner as a project manager, information and communications technology, Elise Adams as an administrative assistant, and Anna Pidong and Edgar Soares as electrical designers. Ngai is on the electrical engineering team, and has seven years of commercial electrical design experience. He has focused on tenant fitout and renovation design. Farrer is a CAD technician and project coordinator with 10 years of experience in the audiovisual field. He specializes in creating and updating drawings. Greiner is a technology professional with 24 years of experience and multiple degrees and certifications. Adams provides receptionist and administrative support. Pidong is a recent graduate who has experience with electrical and technology design. Soares has a bachelor's in electrical engineering from Seattle Pacific University, and 14 years of experience with 3D CADD modeling and mapping. He will support military, public and private projects. In the Puget Sound region, Stantec provides engineering and design services for buildings, transportation, water, waterpower and dams, and environmental projects.

The Seattle office of Davis Wright Tremaine expanded its trademark and intellectual property practice group with a team from Cairncross & Hempelmann led by partner Jeff Nelson. Other Cairncross staff joining Nelson are associate Lauren Schulz, trademark paralegal Mary Hadley and legal assistant Chelsea Fox.

In Seattle, Darigold hired Mark Garth as CFO. Garth was CFO at Country Fresh Holdings in Texas, and CFO and treasurer at Perdue Farms in Maryland. He will join Darigold later this month. Darigold is the marketing and processing subsidiary of Northwest Dairy Association, which is owned by nearly 500 dairy farms.

Washington Automated

Miami-based EnviroStar completed its merger with Everett-based Lucken Inc., the parent company of Washington Automated, a distributor of commercial and vended laundry products. Washington Automated will continue to operate under the leadership of Ryan Lucken, with the same staff and name. EnviroStar sells and rents commercial, industrial and vended laundry and dry cleaning equipment, as well as steam and hot water boilers.

City of Bellevue

The city of Bellevue took first place in the 2018 Digital Cities Survey for cities of its size. Bellevue was cited for its predictive analytics to prevent pipe failures, a new permit fee estimator for construction projects, and transmission of patient information to hospitals from ambulances. Brad Miyake is city manager and Sabra Schneider is chief information officer.

In Seattle, Lease Crutcher Lewis hired Teresa Pepin as operations assistant; Cooper Cassell as staff accountant; Keegan Bennett and Scott O'Connor as project engineers; Jin Jin Levy as cost engineer; and Bill Holden and Alexa Manteufel as site safety coordinators. Pepin is working at the Rainier Square project. She is an experienced jobsite office manager and holds a bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Idaho. Cassell has two years of accounting experience and holds a bachelor's in business administration from the University of Washington. Bennett is working at the Capitol Hill Station residential project. He holds a bachelor's in construction management from Washington State University. O'Connor is working at the Fred Hutch project. He started in residential construction in 2001 and earned both a bachelor's and a construction management certificate from the UW. Levy is working at Building Cure. He was in accounting before joining Lewis and holds a bachelor's in business management from Oregon State University. Holden is also working at Building Cure. He has 20 years of construction experience, including four years as safety coordinator. Manteufel is on the UW Population Health project. She has a year of experience and holds a bachelor's in safety and health management from Central Washington University.

Hitt Contracting named Kris Beason vice president and leader of its Seattle office. Beason has more than 30 years of construction industry experience, including over a decade of executive leadership. She has worked for Vanir Construction Management, Sellen Construction, Adolfson & Peterson Construction, Mortenson and Skanska. She founded the CREW Seattle Leadership Development Program.
