Nina

Marten Law added Ana Nina to its Seattle office and Lawson Fite to its Portland office. The firm also announced that it is expanding on the East Coast, with the addition of James Pollack in Boston and Jack Lyman in Washington, D.C. Nina is an associate and holds a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law. She worked for many years as an environmental lawyer in Brazil, and taught law in the U.S. and Brazil. At Marten, she counsels clients in business transactions and regulatory enforcement matters. Fite is a partner and co-chairs the firm's natural resources practice. He has over 15 years of experience working in private practice and for several years was chief counsel of a timber trade association. He earned his J.D. at Harvard Law School.

Parametrix

Folsome

Wyn Folsome has joined Parametrix as a senior construction manager based out of Bremerton. He has 31 years of experience working in both the public and private sectors in various roles including construction inspector, resident engineer and project manager. Folsome joins Parametrix from Red Barn Engineering, where he was a senior construction manager and inspector. He has worked for clients such as Sound Transit, Washington State Department of Transportation, Seattle Department of Transportation, Seattle Public Utilities, Bay Area Rapid Transit, and San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. Folsome has diverse experience in light rail, shipyard work, high-voltage traction power systems and seismic retrofits, including carbon fiber and epoxy compounds, fiber optics, runway lighting, baggage handling systems, automated fare collection, and single- and multifamily housing. At Parametrix, Folsome joins the firm's community building practice and is currently providing construction management for WSDOT's SR 520 program.

Exley

Hart Crowser, a division of Haley & Aldrich, has promoted geotechnical/seismic engineers Brice Exley and Madan Karkee to principal. Both manage transportation, waterfront and high-rise building projects. Exley is a technical leader for the numerical modeling group. He frequently uses advanced one- and two-dimensional seismic models and large three-dimensional models to help manage design and construction risk while removing design conservatism where appropriate. He was the project manager for geotechnical design for the new 850-foot-tall Rainier Square Tower, now the second tallest building in Seattle; the newly constructed Climate Pledge Arena; and the Port of Seattle Terminal 5 berth upgrades currently under construction. Other projects he's helped deliver include Governor's Island Park and Public Space in New York and Seattle's SR 99 bored tunnel. He has presented at multiple national conferences on deep foundations, numerical modeling and slope stability.

Karkee was geotechnical engineering manager for the new ferry terminal in Mukilteo and the Spaghetti Factory redevelopment in Seattle. His high-rise projects include 800 Columbia in Seattle and the Lincoln Square expansion in Bellevue. He has managed major projects for the Port of Seattle, Washington State Department of Transportation and Sound Transit. He has worked in the U.S., Canada, Japan and Nepal. He has previously been a professor at Akita Prefectural University in Japan, and received the Technology Development Award by the Japan Geotechnical Society. Karkee has been involved in field investigations to assess damage and evaluate performance of structures and foundations following major earthquakes including the 1995 Kobe, 1994 Hokkaido-toho-oki and 1993 Kushiro-oki earthquakes in Japan; and the 2001 Bhuj earthquake in India.

Dykeman Architects

Musch

Dykeman Architects hired Alison Musch as a project manager, where she is responsible for design and coordination on Housing Team projects. Musch previously worked at Dykeman from June 2016 to September 2019 before relocating to Salt Lake City. Musch acquired her master of architecture degree at Tulane School of Architecture in New Orleans and her bachelor's at the University of San Diego. She brings eight years of experience in all phases of design and production on industrial, retail, commercial, education and residential projects.

Villa Academy

In Seattle, Villa Academy selected Liz Willis as its new head of school. In addition to over 20 years of experience in education, Willis has a bachelor's degree in biology and history from Loyola Marymount University and master's and doctorate degrees in American history from the University of Southern California. She currently is associate head of school and interim upper school director at the Academy of Notre Dame de Namur in Villanova, Pennsylvania. Willis will succeed Julie Thenell Grasseschi, interim head of school, on July 1, 2022. Founded in 1903 by St. Frances Cabrini, Villa Academy has a full-time teaching and faculty staff of 72, serving more than 360 students in pre-K through eighth grade. It is located in the Laurelhurst neighborhood.

Whitehouse

Redmond-based Sequoyah Electric and Network Services hired Connor Whitehouse and Tommy Pulido as project engineers, and Andrew Murphy as senior project engineer. Whitehouse was a part of Sequoyah's construction management internship program for two years, and is assisting with project kick-offs, ordering permits, preparing subcontracts and purchase orders, and supporting field staff. He is a graduate of Central Washington University with a bachelor's degree in construction management. Pulido has over 10 years of various electrical and construction management experience — from a CAD drafter to a licensed electrician, estimator and project manager. Murphy is a graduate of Purdue University with a bachelor's degree in construction management. He is assisting the new construction project team with planning, change orders, RFIs, ordering permits, and supporting field staff.

Wilhelm

In Renton, Rock Project Management Services promoted Fred Wilhelm, PMP, to vice president of transportation and infrastructure; and Anne Reese, MPM, EIT, to senior director of project management. Wilhelm has over 25 years of experience and prior to joining Rock was a deputy project director at Sound Transit. He now leads Rock's transportation and infrastructure program. Reese has over 30 years of experience in project and construction management, working with a variety of public and private clients. She currently leads Rock's project and construction management program. Rock provides owner's representative services to public and private clients throughout Washington that have K-12, transportation, health care, energy and technology, and tribal projects.

Trico Companies

Schluter

Burlington-based Trico Companies rehired Blake Schluter as a project manager. Trico says Schluter has served on multiple projects in different capacities over the past 10 years, and has been immersed in the construction industry from a young age, fulfilling many different needs and positions. He holds an associate of applied science degree in civil engineering from Spokane Community College.

Wayne's Roofing

Wiklund

In Sumner, Wayne's Roofing promoted Jason Wiklund to senior cooperative programs specialist. Wiklund started at Wayne's in 2008 as a project manager/estimator. In his new role, he is overseeing all cooperative purchasing projects with public entities seeking to buy roofing products. Wiklund is also responsible for expanding the company's services to other territories.

AGC of America

The Associated General Contractors of America and Procore Technologies launched a scholarship program to assist disadvantaged minority students who are studying construction fields at historically black colleges and universities. The new scholarship is being made possible through a $250,000 challenge gift from Procore that the AGC is now fundraising to meet and exceed. AGC says the new scholarship program is part of its broader efforts to make the construction industry more diverse and inclusive. Procore is a Carpinteria, California-based provider of construction management software.

Leafly Holdings

Boler

In Seattle, Leafly Holdings hired Kimberly Boler as its new general counsel, leading the company's regulatory, legal and compliance function, as well as heading up policy and government relations. Boler has over 20 years of experience advising public and private consumer-facing companies in highly regulated industries, including American International Group and Aria Energy. She most recently was vice president of corporate law at Patriarch Partners. Leafly is a cannabis technology company.

Auth0

Singh

Bellevue-based Auth0, a provider of identity-as-a-service authentication infrastructure, hired Bhawna Singh as senior vice president of engineering. Singh has over 20 years of engineering and technology leadership experience. Singh comes from Glassdoor, where she held senior engineering and technology roles, and oversaw the company's websites and mobile platforms, in addition to its software engineering, data platform and machine learning teams.
